Mythical Women -
An Online Creative Class

This online class will explore the myths of 3 Women -

This class is inspired by the women in Greek Mythology, exploring gender roles from which they are attempting to escape. Like many stereotypical female characters, the women of ancient mythologies experience very little control over their fate.
In this class, we will review the origin myth and then re-tell the myths from a feminist lens. This process empowers you to retell your own origin stories and life stories. Narrative therapy teaches us to externalize our experience and draw from experiences rather than becoming stuck and unable to move past the pain and narrative.
Techniques for this class include journaling (prompts and direction given), collage, assemblage, monoprinting and more.
Our work will be feminist both in content and medium. We will draw from decorative patterns from bedspreads, tablecloths, and doilies that are regarded as domestic and therefore feminine. By augmenting your work with these patterns using different methods, you will uplift these so-called “women’s crafts” to the level of fine art from which they have been historically excluded.
When women are the storytellers, the human story changes. Begin a journey that moves you into the deeper layers of personal myth, archetypal awareness, transformation and empowerment.
This 6 week class runs from

Session Details
